Step-by-Step Guide to Estimating Rural Homelessness 2.0 (English)

Step-by-Step Guide to Estimating Rural Homelessness 2.0

This step-by-step guide to estimate homelessness in rural communities was developed by the Alberta Rural Development Network (ARDN) through an Innovation microgrant from Employment and Social Development Canada and funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Homelessness Partnering Strategy Innovative Solutions to Homelessness. This guide incorporates cost-conscious, cost-efficient and reliable practices that cater specifically to the aspects of rural communities and the surrounding areas. The guide utilizes a new method for creating unique, anonymous identifiers for clients, and conforms to all necessary privacy and ethics regulations for Canada. With this step-by-step guide, we hope to aid rural communities in developing strategies to solve rural homelessness and to bring more awareness to homelessness in those rural communities.

The ARDN is interested in spreading this guide across Canada. Therefore, if you know anyone who may find a use of this guide, please feel free to share it with those who may find this guide useful. As well, don’t hesitate to contact us to gain a better understanding of how this guide may be beneficial for your community’s homelessness endeavours.
